More than a recipe

The original Neys Apricot, chillie & herb recipe is still at the heart of what we make today. It is based on the flavour I remember from my mom with a touch of me woven into it. 


Neys is made for the way we love to eat in South Africa—around a braai, alongside a boerewors roll, with chicken wings, steak, lamb, burgers and so many of the comforting home-cooked meals that bring people together.

It is a jar of chutney. But it is also a little piece of our family story. A story of love, loss, family, resilience and starting again. 

From my mother's kitchen to mine, and now to yours. 
When you open a jar of Neys and enjoy it with your food, I hope you experience even a little of what I felt when I enjoyed my mom's chutney growing up. Because food has a way of carrying memories. And sometimes, a single taste can take you home.

What makes Neys chutney different?

Every jar is made in small batches from the original family recipe — bold, fresh and spicy, with no shortcuts. It is the same chutney we grew up enjoying around the braai and it's packed with flavour.

How long does the chutney last?

Unopened jars keep for up to 12 months in a cool, dark place. Once opened, refrigerate and enjoy within 4 to 6 weeks.

Do you offer gift boxes and bulk orders?

Yes. Our gourmet gift boxes are perfect for weddings, corporate gifting, Christmas, birthdays, housewarmings and we are happy to take both small and bulk orders. Get in touch and we will put a package together for you.

How does delivery work?

We offer local pickup free of charge in Protea Heights, or flat rate delivery for R100. Simply choose your option at checkout and we will confirm the details on WhatsApp.
